Our Frequently Asked Questions
Here's what most people want to know before they reach out—answered straightforwardly.
How are you different from other advisors?
We're fully independent, which means the only agenda at the table is yours. No products to sell, no hidden incentives and no conflicts. But what really sets us apart is how we work with clients—we help people navigate the decisions that shape their lives, with a clear head and a deep understanding of what's important in their life.
What does 'fiduciary' actually mean?
It means we're legally required to act in your best interest at all times—not our firm's, not a product manufacturer's. We'd do it either way, but it's good to know it's also the law.
What's the minimum to work together?
We work with clients who have at least $500,000 in investable assets. We tend to be the right fit for households up to around $2 million—the kind of clients who want personalized, hands-on service from someone who actually knows their name.
How do you charge?
A flat 1% per year on assets under management. That's it. No commissions, no product fees, nothing buried in the fine print.
Who do you typically work with?
We work best with professionals and families—typically pre-retirees between 40 and 60 with at least $500,000 in investable assets who want a real planning relationship, not just a managed account. If you've outgrown your current advisor or you're tired of being ignored by a big institution, you're probably exactly who we had in mind.
What is Behind The Curtain Finance?
It's our podcast—hosted by Thomas Manetta—where we pull back the curtain on financial planning, talk through real decisions, and cut through the noise the industry tends to hide behind. You can find every episode on our YouTube channel. It's a good way to get a sense of how we think before you ever get on a call.
